Yorkton Chamber of Commerce “Pleased” All COVID Restrictions in Saskatchewan Will be Lifted July 11

Pleased was the primary reaction from the Executive Director of the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce regarding news that all of the COVID restrictions in Saskatchewan will be lifted on July 11th.
Juanita Polegi says for many businesses that have talked to her, July 11th can’t come quick enough.
From what Polegi gathered in those conversations, many businesses indicated they will return to normal once the 11th hits.
According to a survey conducted by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, 68 percent of respondents feel their business is fully prepared when all the restrictions are lifted, while 70 percent indicated they will continue to enforce all or some restrictions, such as mask wearing, sanitizing or physical distancing.
Other results from the survey included:
  • 49% of respondents believe July 11 is an appropriate date to lift all restrictions, 24% think it is too early, 16% think it is too late, and 12% are unsure.
  • 47% of respondents expect their business to fully recover to pre-pandemic levels in 2021, 25% do not expect to recover, and 21% are “unsure”.
Step 3 of the province’s Reopening Roadmap was achieved after 70 percent of people 18-and-up received their first dose of a COVID vaccine.
