Boat Patrols Conducted on Dauphin Lake Last Saturday

The Dauphin RCMP, Manitoba RCMP Inland Water Transport Unit, and Conservation Officers conducted boat patrols on Dauphin Lake on Saturday (June 26).

Officers conducted several stops on the lake to ensure boating regulations, fishing regulations and impaired driving laws were being followed.

Six boats were found to be non-compliant with regulations, but no fines were issued after officers provided some education to the boaters. Potential fines totaled $7,140.

One ticket was issued for fishing without a licence.

Dauphin RCMP Constable Romain Sarradell mentioned in a news release two boats that were stopped were found to be following the rules, adding all their safety equipment was in proper working order.
