An 18-year-old man has been arrested with charges pending following a shooting incident in Dauphin.

RCMP responded to the call of a shooting on 5th Avenue Northeast at 11:30 p.m. MB time yesterday (Thurs).

Mounties say a 25-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk when he received gunshot wounds to his lower body; he was taken to a Winnipeg hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

After determining the shots came from a home, the area was contained and a suspect exited the residence, then taken into custody without incident.

RCMP noted the accused and the victim are known to each other.
