Manitoba Government To Make Improvements To Shellmouth Dam Compensation Program

Manitoba’s Office of the Auditor General released their report on the 2011, 2012 and 2014 Shellmouth Dam Compensation Programs.

Several recommendations were made by the Auditor General, all of which have been accepted by the Manitoba government.

The province will address delays in issuing Artificial Flood Reports, develop timelines to ensure the compensation program is accelerated, monitored and tracked for performance, and it will be working on improved communications regarding program information.

The compensation program is made available when artificial flooding causes property damage and economic losses.
