With the upcoming federal election, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party announced a new promise.
Trudeau announced a new ten day sick leave program that will be introduced within 100 days of a new mandate, should the Liberals be re-elected to office.
He adds that with this promise, the Liberals are setting the standard for what Canadians deserve, should they become sick with COVID-19.
Trudeau also promised a new tax credit for small businesses to buy or upgrade ventilation equipment.
Meanwhile, job creation was the focus of the Conservative Party’s campaign today.
Leader Erin O’Toole announced that the Conservative Party has a plan to recover 1-million lost jobs through the country in one year.
O’Toole notes that the Conservatives top priority is to get as many people back to work as quickly as possible.
A Conservative government will also pay up to 50% of the salary of a new employee for six months, once the Wage Subsidy Program ends in October.
And NDP leader Jagmeet Singh was the first of the three major political leaders to touch down in Saskatchewan during the election campaign as he visited the 751 unmarked graves at the Cowessess First Nation this morning.
Singh says what happened was a crime and it needs to be investigated with prosecutions being made.
Singh says if elected Prime Minister on September 20th, Canadians can count on him to get justice done.
