Saskatchewan reports another single-day high of 506 new COVID-19 cases

Another single-day high for new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, with 506 today (Tues).

It surpasses yesterday’s (Mon) 449 new cases.

Today’s cases bring the provincial total to 59,673.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (12), Far North Central (4), Far North East (64), North West (64), North Central (74), North East (25), Saskatoon (97), Central West (8), Central East (21), Regina (45), South West (12), South Central (17) and South East (22) zones and 41 new cases have pending residence information.

25 cases with pending residence information were reassigned to Far North West (from September 3 (1), September 7 (1), September 9 (1), September 12 (2)), Far North East (August 28 (1), September 8 (3)), North West (September 8 (2), September 12 (6)), North Central (September 11 (1), September 12 (1)), Central West (September 11 (1)), South West (September 10 (1), September 12 (3)), and South Central (September 12 (1)) zones.

Two (2) SK resident tested out-of-province has been added to the case counts in the South West zone (from September 12 (2))

Active cases in the province rose by 153 to 3,929; the Central East region has 128 active cases.

The province announced that starting today, daily case numbers will include ages 0-11 in the “COVID-19 new cases and vaccination status” table.

The Ministry of Health is working on incorporating hospitalizations by age and vaccination status into the daily dashboard updating.

There are 225 individuals in hospital, including 43 in ICU, and two individuals between 0-11 years of age are in hospital, but neither are in ICU. Of the 225 people in hospital, 170 were not fully vaccinated.

An additional 353 people recovered from COVID-19, increasing the total to 55,117.

Two more COVID-19 related deaths were recorded, 1 each in the North West and Saskatoon regions, bringing the total to 627.

The seven-day average of daily new cases rose again to 406.

An additional 4,294 tests for COVID-19 were conducted in the province, increasing the total to 1,070,344.

A total of 665 new vaccine doses were reported: 275 first doses and 390 second doses. Total doses administered is 1,503,385. As of today, the province said  78 per cent of those 12-and-over have received their first dose and 70 per cent of those over 12 are fully vaccinated.
