Sask. Premier Scott Moe announces measures ahead of Thursday afternoon news conference

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced measures that will be coming in as the province continues to see high COVID-19 cases.

Premier Moe and Dr. Saqib Shahab will have a news conference at 2 p.m. SK time.

In a video on his Facebook Page prior to the news conference, Premier Moe says they will be announcing measures to reduce pressure on the healthcare system, increase vaccination rates, and making it less comfortable to remain unvaccinated in Saskatchewan.

That includes a mandatory mask order at all public indoor spaces, effective tomorrow (Fri) until the end of October.

Moe says effective October 1st, a policy for providing proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result will be in place, and apply to several businesses, establishments and event venues, while excluding several services that are necessary for every Saskatchewan resident to access.

In addition, all employees with Saskatchewan Government Ministries, Crowns, and agencies will be required to be vaccinated with full proof of vaccination required by October 1st or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result if unable to provide proof of vaccination.

More to come.
