Saskatchewan COVID-19 Update: 499 new cases, 397 recoveries, and one death

Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 case total is 61,558 after 499 new cases were recorded on Saturday.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (21), Far North Central (1), Far North East (31), North West (59), North Central (76), North East (25), Saskatoon (107), Central West (10), Central East (9), Regina (62), South West (12), South Central (25) and South East (26) zones and 35 new cases have pending residence information.

Twenty-two (22) cases with pending residence information were reassigned to the Far North West (from September 16 (1)), Far North East (from September 8 (1)), North West (from September 14 (2), September 15 (1), September 16 (1)), North Central (from September 16 (5)), North East (from September 14 (2)), Saskatoon (from September 14 (1), September 16 (2)), Central East (from September 16 (1)), Regina (from September 14 (2), September 16 (2)), and South East (from September 16 (1)) zones.

Six (6) repeated cases were removed to the case counts in the Far North East (from August 6 (1), August 31 (1)), Central West (from September 2 (1)), Regina (from April 15 (1)) and 2 pending residence locations (from April 26 (1), August 5 (1)).

There are 228 people in hospital – 177 in inpatient care and 51 in ICU – and 397 people recovered, increasing the total to 56,591.

One person died due to COVID-19, located in the North East region, bringing the total to 638.

Active cases in the province rose to 4,329, and of those, 176 are in the Central East region.

The total number of COVID-19 tests done in the province is 1,086,823, an increase of 4,468.

The seven day average of daily new cases is 467.

The provincial dashboard also reported 4,251 new vaccine doses given – 2,334 first doses and 1,917 second doses – increasing the overall total to 1,515,564.
