Two arrests made following a report of shots fired in Duck Bay, Manitoba

A busy weekend for the Winnipegosis RCMP.

On Saturday afternoon (Oct. 2), Mounties responded to a report of shots fired on Frontier Avenue in Duck Bay, where they initially arrested a 48-year-old woman and seized a rifle, then arrested a second woman, also 48.

Their investigation determined a physical altercation occurred between multiple individuals that resulted in minor injuries, and the two women were released pending a court date on multiple charges.

Then on Sunday morning (Oct. 3), RCMP responded to a house fire on South Bay Street in Duck Bay, where the home, was completely burned to the ground.

The home belonged to the second woman charged, who was in police custody at the time of the fire, and police consider the fire suspicious.

***A previous version of the story mentioned the physical altercation occurred between two individuals. The Winnipegosis RCMP apologized for the error.
