Saskatchewan Reports 507 New Cases Of COVID-19, 601 Recoveries, 1 Death

  • As of October 10, there are 507 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 72,033 reported cases
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (17), Far North East (35), North West (64), North Central (66), North East (17), Saskatoon (112), Central West (2), Central East (52), Regina (62), South West (16), South Central (9) and South East (26) zones and twenty nine (29) new cases have pending residence information
  • 20 cases with pending residence information were assigned to Far North West (from October 1 (1)), Far North Central (from September 4 (1)), Far North East (from October 1 (3), October 4 (1), October 7 (1), October 8 (1)), North West (from October 8 (1)), North Central (from October 8 (5)), Saskatoon (from October 6 (1), October 8 (1)), Central West (from October 8 (1)), and Regina (from October 4 (1), October 5 (1), October 7 (1)) zones

  • 72,033 cases are confirmed
    • 17,559 cases are from the North area (7,714 North West, 7,223 North Central, 2,622 North East)
    • 17,348 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 14,338 cases are from the Regina area
    • 8,707 cases are from the South area (1,965 South West, 2,685 South Central, 4,057 South East)
    • 8,632 cases are from the Far North area (4,054 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,037 Far North East)
    • 4,820 cases are from the Central area (1,307 Central West, 3,513 Central East)
    • 629 cases have pending residence information
  • 4,703 cases are considered active and 66,583 cases are considered recovered
  • More than one quarter (27.8%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
  • About one in twenty (5.3%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated
  • As of October 9, a total of 333 individuals are hospitalized; including 254 inpatient hospitalizations, and 79 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 333 patients, 252 (75.7%) were not fully vaccinated
  • One (1) new death reported today. 747 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.0%
  • 1,172,323 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of October 7, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 983,085 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,162,631 tests performed per million.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 486 (40.3 new cases per 100,000.)
