New cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan decreased again, however, the number of individuals in ICU increased.
On Tuesday, the province reported 271 new cases, bringing the total to 72,730.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (9), Far North East (19), North West (35), North Central (30), North East (9), Saskatoon (81), Central West (2), Central East (25), Regina (35), South West (3), South Central (4) and South East (3) zones and 16 new cases have pending residence information.
9 cases with pending residence information were reassigned to North West (from September 25 (1), September 29 (1), October 1 (1)), Saskatoon (from October 10 (1)), Central East (from October 10 (1)), and Regina (from October 5 (1), October 9 (2), October 10 (1)) zones.
One (1) SK resident tested positive out-of-province was added to the Saskatoon zone on October 7, 2021.

A total of 348 people are in hospital, including 80 in ICU, and of the 348, 261 were not fully vaccinated.
The dashboard also reported 478 recoveries, increasing the total to 67,527, and active cases dropped by 208 to 4,450.
The seven day average of daily new cases is 487 or 40.4 new cases per 100,000.
Two deaths related to COVID-19 brings the total to 753; one was located in the Saskatoon region and the other in the Regina region.

An additional 2,425 COVID-19 tests were added to the overall total, which is 1,177,743.
New reported vaccines doses were low today at 539 – 264 first doses and 275 second doses.

The province noted as of today, 83 per cent of those 12-and-older have received their first dose and 74 per cent of those 12-and-up are fully vaccinated.
COVID-19 Summary for October 6-12
- From October 6 – 12, 27,373 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,604,075.
- There were 3,410 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan from October 6 – 12, bringing the provincial total to 72,730 cases. 3,307 recoveries were recorded during the same period.
- The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan is currently 487 (40.4 per 100,000).
- Twenty-seven new deaths were reported October 6 – 12.
- There were 384 new lineage results reported for October 6 – 12.
- As of October 12, there are 348 people in hospital: 268 are receiving inpatient care and 80 are in intensive care. Two hundred and sixty-one of the people in hospital (75 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.
- From October 6 – 12, there were 28,014 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.
