Starting next week, more than 1.3-million rapid antigen COVID-test kits will be made available to the public in Saskatchewan.
The test kits are used to help screen asymptomatic residents who have contracted COVID-19, thus preventing transmission in the community.
An additional 360-thousand test kits will be provided to First Nations communities across the province through a provincial allocation to Indigenous Services Canada.
Schools in the province will also receive 720-thousand test kits, while the rest of the 2.6-million kits Saskatchewan is receiving will go towards the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s Test to Protect Program.
