Man facing multiple charges from Punnichy-area crime spree returned to court

A new court date has been set for one of four people charged, following a violent crime spree in the Punnichy area two years ago.

25-year-old Jamie Munroe, whose jury trial is set for next May, on a total of 13 charges including Assault Causing Bodily Harm, remains in custody, with his next pretrial appearance set for November 12th, in Regina Court of Queen’s Bench.

In May of 2019, police say a man was struck by a vehicle, then shot, on the Muskowekwan First Nation.

Then, the next day, an altercation on the Piapot First Nation led to one victim allegedly being struck with a machete, and the other being chased to the Muscowpetung First Nation.
