The State of Emergency in Manitoba regarding COVID-19, that was first implemented on March 20th, 2020, will expire today at 4pm MB time.
The provincial government made the decision that the order is no longer required to help the province protect Manitobans from the impacts of COVID-19.
However, public health orders will remain in effect through the Public Health Act, and a future state of emergency may be declared if the situation requires it.
When announced, the state of emergency allowed for a number of emergency orders to be made that were beyond the scope of the Public Health Act.
