A Russell Man Charged With Arson Makes Another Court Appearance

A new court date has been set for a man arrested in connection with a fire at the oldest house in Russell. On January 5th, RCMP were called to Pelly Avenue, where firefighters were battling a blaze that had fully engulfed the structure, that was built in 1888. About two hours later, a call came in to 911, in which a man said he started the fire, giving his location, and when police arrived, he was found with a container of what was believed to be gasoline. 22-year-old Liam Flett of Russell, had a court appearance yesterday, where his matters were adjourned to January 26th.
