Saskatchewan COVID-19 Update for Saturday: 73 new cases, 145 recoveries, 5 deaths

  • As of November 27, there are 73 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 80,848 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the North West (6), North East (3), Saskatoon (13), Central West (1), Central East (17), Regina (11), South West (2), and South East (15) zones and five (5) new cases have pending residence information.
  • Four (4) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (from September 12 (1), November 25 (2)), and North Central (from September 7 (1)) zones.

  • 80,848 cases are confirmed
    • 19,747 cases are from the North area (8,781 North West, 8,133 North Central, 2,833 North East)
    • 19,297 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 15,804 cases are from the Regina area
    • 10,106 cases are from the South area (2,183 South West, 2,961 South Central, 4,962 South East)
    • 9,340 cases are from the Far North area (4,391 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,408 Far North East)
    • 6,021 cases are from the Central area (1,436 Central West, 4,585 Central East)
    • 533 cases have pending residence information
  • 940 cases are considered active and 78,987 cases are considered recovered.
  • Over one-third (35.6%) of new cases are in the age category of 11 or under.
  • Just over one-half (51.1%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) was fully vaccinated.
  • As of November 27, a total of 138 individuals are hospitalized; including 101 inpatient hospitalizations, and 37 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 138 patients, 92 (66.7%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • In addition to SK ICU counts, there are six (6) residents receiving out of province care in hospital. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard.
  • Five (5) new deaths reported today. 921 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%
  • 1,273,985 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of November 25, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,075,649 tests performed per million. The national rate of 1,267,726 tests performed per million population.
  • There has been a reported 8,707 doses administered in the five to 11 age range (Far North West 118; Far North Central 6; Far North East 59; North West 525; North Central 318; North East 112; Saskatoon 3,167; Regina 2,369; Central West 246; Central East 537; South West 291; South Central 322; South East 560; unable to assign 77). The five to 11 vaccination data will be added to the COVID-19 dashboard next week. Note: 11 year olds who will turn 12 in 2021 previously reported in the 12 to 17 category are now included in the five to 11 category.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 82 (6.8 new cases per 100,000).
  • The provincial dashboard is reporting a total of 8,707 first doses administered to children five to 11 years old for November 27. Please note:
    • There is a 48 hour lag period in reporting vaccinations to the dashboard as clinics require this time to enter information into Panorama.
    • This number includes approximately 2,000 first doses delivered to 11 year olds who will be turning 12 by the end of the year. They were deemed eligible for vaccination and had previously been reported in the 12-17 age category and have now been moved into the five to 11 category.
    • When the dashboard is updated, the five to 11 year category will also include approximately 1,700 second doses (completed series) for those 11 year-olds turning 12 by the end of the year that had previously been included in the 12-17 category.
