Saskatchewan’s November 28th COVID-19 Update

  • As of November 28, there are 52 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 80,901 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the North West (4), North Central (5), Saskatoon (11), Central East (6), Regina (9), South Central (4), and South East (10) zones and three (3) new cases have pending residence information.
  • Nine (9) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (from September 18 (1), November 26 (1)), North Central (from September 25 (1), September 26 (1), September 28 (1), November 19 (1)), Regina (from November 26 (1)), South West (from November 25 (1)), and South East (from November 26 (1)) zones.
  • One (1) SK resident tested out-of-province was added to the case counts in the North West (from November 25 (1)) zone.
  • 80,901 cases are confirmed
    • 19,763 cases are from the North area (8,788 North West, 8,142 North Central, 2,833 North East)
    • 19,308 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 15,814 cases are from the Regina area
    • 10,122 cases are from the South area (2,184 South West, 2,965 South Central, 4,973 South East)
    • 9,340 cases are from the Far North area (4,391 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,408 Far North East)
    • 6,027 cases are from the Central area (1,436 Central West, 4,591 Central East)
    • 527 cases have pending residence information
  • 898 cases are considered active and 79,078 cases are considered recovered.
  • Just over one-third (34.6%) of new cases are in the age category of 11 or under.
  • More than two-fifths (41.2%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) was fully vaccinated.
  • As of November 28, a total of 129 individuals are hospitalized; including 93 inpatient hospitalizations, and 36 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 129 patients, 88 (68.2%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • In addition to SK ICU counts, there are five (5) residents receiving out of province care in hospital. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard. Since yesterday’s report, there has been one (1) repatriation.
  • Four (4) new deaths reported today. 925 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%
  • 1,275,339 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of November 25, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,075,649 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,267,726 tests performed per million population.
  • There has been a reported 12,708 doses administered in the five to 11 age range (Far North West 162; Far North Central 6; Far North East 122; North West 770; North Central 565; North East 181; Saskatoon 4,633; Regina 3,474; Central West 332; Central East 743; South West 350; South Central 468; South East 785; unable to assign 117). The five to 11 vaccination data will be added to the COVID-19 dashboard next week. Note: 11 year olds who will turn 12 in 2021 previously reported in the 12 to 17 category are now included in the five to 11 category.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 80 (6.7 new cases per 100,000).
