Saskatchewan Reports 48 New Cases Of COVID-19, 107 Recoveries, 2 Deaths

  • As of December 6th, there are 48 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 81,410 reported cases
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (2), North West (2), North Central (2), Saskatoon (15), Central West (1), Central East (8), Regina (12), South Central (3) and South East (2) zones and one (1) new case has pending residence information
  • Two (2) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North East (from December 3 (1)), and Regina (from December 3 (1)) zones
  • One (1) case was removed from Saskatoon zone on December 4, 2021

  • 81,410 cases are confirmed
    • 19,866 cases are from the North area (8,831 North West, 8,198 North Central, 2,837 North East)
    • 19,406 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 15,894 cases are from the Regina area
    • 10,244 cases are from the South area (2,192 South West, 2,991 South Central, 5,061 South East)
    • 9,363 cases are from the Far North area (4,400 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,422 Far North East)
    • 6,103 cases are from the Central area (1,440 Central West, 4,663 Central East)
    • 534 cases have pending residence information
  • 634 cases are considered active and 79,845 cases are considered recovered
  • More than one-fifth (22.9%) of new cases are in the age category of 5 to 11
  • Less than one-half (47.7%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 5 years and older) were fully vaccinated
  • As of December 6th, a total of 130 individuals are hospitalized, including 100 inpatient hospitalizations and 30 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 130 patients, 85 (65.4%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • In addition to SK ICU counts, there are three residents receiving out of province care in hospital. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard.
  • Two (2) new deaths reported today. 931 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
  • 1,288,756 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of December 2nd, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,085,829 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,283,788 tests performed per million population.
  • As of today, the 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 66 (5.5 new cases per 100,000)
