Manitoba’s Deficit Shrinks

The Manitoba government has released their financial update. Finance minister Scott Fielding says there was some good news when it comes to the deficit, which is now forecast at $1.1 billion, a $474 million improvement compared to the deficit of $1.6 billion projected in Budget 2021. When it comes to fighting COVID, the budget included $1.180 billion for response and contingencies, and $800 million of this funding has now been allocated.
