The Manitoba government is extending the school Christmas break by 4 days to allow officials time to assess the risk of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, and make any needed changes. Most students were scheduled to return to school on January 6th, but will now be back at their desks on the 10th, although staff will be back on the 6th. Many childcare centres will remain open for children under the age of 12 to ensure families can continue to access needed childcare services.
