A new map from the Water Security Agency will not surprise any farmers—but it is a stark reminder that Saskatchewan will need plenty of snow and rain in 2022 after last year’s extremely dry conditions have put about three-quarter of the agricultural land in either the extreme or high risk drought zones. Yorkton, Indian Head, Regina are in the moderate drought zone, Saskatoon and Outlook in the moderate zone, and nearly everywhere else is in the the high risk drought zone.
