With the extended cold weather in the forecast, SaskPower is issuing some advice for residents to keep themselves safe.
In the event of an emergency or extended power outage, the utility company recommends that households have basic supplies on hand to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours.
Every household should have a basic emergency kit which includes food and water, flashlights with extra batteries, a first-aid kit, a battery-powered or hand-crank clock and radio, as well as blankets and warm clothing.
At this time, SaskPower is not anticipating any extended outages as a result of the extreme cold weather.
