Nearly half of all collisions in the province happen at intersections, and that’s why SGI’s January traffic spotlight is on safety at them. On average, 2,503 people are injured, and 31 people are killed at intersections each year in Saskatchewan. SGI’s Heather Anderson says there are things all drivers can do to minimize the risk of a crash, including slowing down ahead of intersections and driving in the part of the lane that has been sanded.
