2021 Yorkton Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign raises over $100-thousand

The Yorkton Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign wrapped up for another holiday season, and it was a huge success.

Roy Bladen with the Salvation Army announced the grand total was 105-thousand 555 dollars, surpassing the goal of $100-thousand, and thanked Yorkton residents for their generosity.

An addition this year was the option to donate by debit or credit card.

“I would just like to extend a hearty thank you for all the folks that have given their time (volunteering at the kettles) or their money or food, whatever they gave to us to help make this season what it is.” he said.

Bladen explained the money is allocated to the Food Bank for supplies for the coming year, as well as preparation of the food hampers in December.

“It’s a long process but we spread the money out equally over each month and it helps us stay afloat.”
