Manitoba records 1,757 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths on Tuesday

Manitoba updated the COVID-19 Dashboard and recorded 1,757 new cases today (Tues), bringing the provincial total to 87,263.

The Winnipeg Health Region has the majority of new cases with 1,250, while the Interlake-Eastern Health Region has 152 new cases, the Southern Health Region 122, the Prairie Mountain Health Region 73 cases, and the Northern Health Region 60 cases.

The number of Manitobans in hospital due to COVID-19 increased to 251, while total ICU patients remain at 32.

There are 17,076 active cases in Manitoba, including 1,656 in the Prairie Mountain Health Region. A total of 68, 787 recoveries from the virus have been recorded.

Two more individuals died due to COVID-19, bringing the provincial total to 1,400.

4,424 COVID-19 tests were done in the province, and the provincial test positivity rate went up to 39.5 percent.

Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson, Education Minister Cliff Cullen, and Deputy Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, Dr. Jazz Atwal are scheduled to provide an update on the return to school at 2 p.m. today.
