This year could turn out to be one of many firsts for VIDO on the USask campus. The lab has two COVID-19 vaccines in the works, and both are entering phase two clinical trials. CEO, Dr. Volker Gerdts says their first vaccine showed positive results in phase one, which was done in Halifax. The 2nd is specifically for low and middle income countries. He adds that they are also testing this vaccine against the Omicron variant.
