Manitoba COVID-19 Update: 2,548 new cases, 98 recoveries, 6 deaths, 263 in hospital

Another increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations in Manitoba, as a 263 people are receiving treatment, an increase of 11 from yesterday’s (Wed) 252.

Three more COVID-19 patients were admitted to the ICU for a total of 33.

Of the 263 people in hospital, 222 have active COVID-19, meaning they are infectious, and the remaining 32 are no longer infectious, but still require care, while 32 of the 33 ICU patients are infectious and one is no longer infectious, but still needs intensive care.

The province also recorded 2,548 new cases of COVID-19, out of 6,162 tests.

The Winnipeg Health Region has 1,503 new cases, the Prairie Mountain Health Region 366, the Southern Health Region 277, the Interlake-Eastern Health Region has 245, and the Northern Health Region 157 cases.

There were 98 recoveries, increasing the total to 68,902.

Six more deaths bring the provincial total to 1,408.

Manitoba’s test positivity rate is at 43.5 percent.
