Jury Trials in Saskatchewan postponed

The Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan has announced that all jury trials that were scheduled to begin between today and February 25 have been postponed.

The decision was in response to the most recent information available concerning the health risks posed by COVID-19 and its variants.

This directive applies to all Court of Queen’s Bench judicial centres throughout the province.

Any resident that was summoned for jury duty for a matter that was scheduled to begin between today and February 25 is asked to not to attend.

For the criminal cases that are affected, arrangements can be made for a re-election to trial by judge alone. If the accused wishes to proceed on that basis, the trial may go ahead as scheduled.
