Vogar, Manitoba teenager appears in court on charges including Failure to Comply with a Release Order

A routine RCMP patrol over the weekend led to the arrest of a 13-year-old youth from Vogar, Manitoba, who allegedly breached a Release Order.

On Saturday afternoon (Jan. 10), Ste. Rose RCMP were patrolling the Ebb and Flow First Nation when they pulled up beside a young boy walking along the road, who was not dressed properly for the extreme cold.

After talking with the teenager, officers confirmed his identity, and determined he was on several court ordered conditions, including not being on the reserve.

The youth was arrested and a subsequent search of him revealed a large knife, a smaller knife, and two digital scales.

The accused is facing charges including Possession of a Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Failing to Comply with a Release Order.

The youth appeared in Dauphin Provincial Court this morning, and was remanded in custody for this Friday (Jan. 14).
