The freeze-thaw-freeze cycle we’re about to get into with milder weather on the way could potentially lead to problems for homeowners in the form of ice dams. SGI’s Tyler McMurchy says to mitigate the possibility, get a roof rake and remove the first 2 to 4 feet of snow from the eaves, or hire someone to do it for you. He says some of the signs you’ve got a dam include icicles and water stains on your ceiling.
