Saskatchewan Identified 1,412 New Cases Of COVID-19, 347 Recoveries, No Deaths

  • As of January 14th, there are 1,412 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 97,545 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (27), Far North East (18), North West (53), North Central (62), North East (36), Saskatoon (334), Central West (20), Central East (92), Regina (334), South West (44), South Central (76) and South East (168) zones and 148 new cases have pending residence information.
  • Nine (9) cases were assigned to the Far North Central (from December 30 (1), December 31 (1), January 1 (1)), North West (from January 6 (2), North East (January 7 (1)), Central East (from January 8 (1)), Regina (from January 11 (1)), and South West (from January 10 (1)) zones.
  • 18 SK residents tested out of province were added to North West (2), North Central (1), Saskatoon (6), and Regina (9) zones.
  • 10 SK residents were removed from total case counts in Saskatoon (from January 10 (2)), Regina (from January 10 (6)), and South East (from January 10 (2)) zones.

  • 97,545 cases are confirmed:
    • 24,437 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 21,343 cases are from the North area (9,389 North West, 8,817 North Central, 3,137 North East)
    • 20,172 cases are from the Regina area
    • 12,701 cases are from the South area (2,611 South West, 3,728 South Central, 6,362 South East)
    • 9,687 cases are from the Far North area (4,582 Far North West, 545 Far North Central, 4,560 Far North East)
    • 7,571 cases are from the Central area (1,731 Central West, 5,840 Central East)
    • 1,634 cases have pending residence information
  • 10,325 cases are considered active and 86,259 cases are considered recovered.
  • Over two-fifths (43.2%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39.
  • As of January 14th, a total of 131 individuals are hospitalized, including 123 inpatient hospitalizations and 8 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 131 patients, 56 (42.7%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • The SHA dashboard includes 131 hospitalizations: 123 residents are inpatient: of those, 59 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 46 are incidental, asymptomatic infections and 18 have not yet been determined. 8 residents are in ICUs: of those, 5 are for COVID-19-related illnesses, 3 are for incidental, asymptomatic infections.
  • No (0) new death reported today. 961 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.0.
  • 1,374,825 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of January 12, 2022, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,154,902 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,426,899 tests performed per million population.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 1,093 (90.7 new cases per 100,000).
  • Since January 1, the New Cases by Vaccination Status table has shown a significant number of new cases as unvaccinated. This data is not accurate. This table is no longer featured on the dashboard until a review of the information is complete and the data rectified.
