Saskatchewan Reports 1,114 New Cases Of COVID-19, 556 Recoveries, No Deaths

  • As of January 15th, there are 1,114 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 98,699 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (25), Far North Central (5), Far North East (4), North West (49), North Central (70), North East (29), Saskatoon (327), Central West (17), Central East (76), Regina (266), South West (53), South Central (30) and South East (71) zones and 92 new cases have pending residence information.
  • Two (2) cases were assigned to the North West (from January 10 (1)), and North Central (from December 26, 2021 (1)) zones.
  • 41 SK residents tested out of province were added to North West (5), North East (1), Saskatoon (19), Central East (2), Regina (8), South West (2), and South East (1) zones and 3 pending residence location. Details of additions are included in a one time table included at the end of the report.
  • One (1) case was a repeat test and removed from the Regina zone from January 13, 2022.

  • 98,699 cases are confirmed:
    • 24,783 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 21,499 cases are from the North area (9,444 North West, 8,888 North Central, 3,167 North East)
    • 20,445 cases are from the Regina area
    • 12,858 cases are from the South area (2,666 South West, 3,758 South Central, 6,434 South East)
    • 9,721 cases are from the Far North area (4,607 Far North West, 550 Far North Central, 4,564 Far North East)
    • 7,666 cases are from the Central area (1,748 Central West, 5,918 Central East)
    • 1,727 cases have pending residence information
  • 10,923 cases are considered active and 86,815 cases are considered recovered.
  • Almost two-fifths (38.6%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39.
  • As of January 15th, a total of 150 individuals are hospitalized, including 139 inpatient hospitalizations and 11 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 150 patients, 58 (38.7%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • The SHA dashboard includes 150 hospitalizations: 139 residents are inpatient: of those, 64 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 54 are incidental, asymptomatic infections and 21 have not yet been determined. 11 residents are in ICUs: of those, 6 are for COVID-19-related illnesses, 5 are for incidental, asymptomatic infections.
  • No (0) new death reported today. 961 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.0%.
  • 1,378,249 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of January 12, 2022, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,157,945 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,430,788 tests performed per million population.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 1,120 (92.9 new cases per 100,000).
  • Since January 1, the New Cases by Vaccination Status table has shown a significant number of new cases as unvaccinated. This data is not accurate. This table is no longer featured on the dashboard until a review of the information is complete and the data rectified.
