An American man has been charged with human smuggling after 4 people were found dead Wednesday near the Canada-US border, near Emerson, Manitoba. 47 year old Steve Shand of Florida was in a Minnesota court yesterday, and remanded to January 24th. US Customs apprehended a group of individuals that had crossed in the US from Canada, with one of the adults carrying items meant for an infant, however, there was no infant with the group. A few hours later, searchers four deceased individuals were found on the Canadian side of the border, an adult male, an adult female, a male in his mid-teens, and an infant.
