The group that is heading to Ottawa, to protest the federal government’s vaccine mandate for truck drivers, is getting support on a local level.

In a show of support for what’s being called the “Freedom Convoy 2022”, a local convoy of truck drivers will start a trip to Whitewood tomorrow morning (Tues) at 6:45, from Humpty’s at the corner of Highways 9 and 16 in Yorkton.

The protest is in regards to a vaccine mandate that states that truck drivers must show proof of vaccination to avoid taking COVID-19 tests at the Canada-US border, while unvaccinated American truck drivers are not allowed to enter Canada.

The Freedom Convoy will be leaving Balgonie tomorrow (Tues) when they head to Kenora, Ontario and wrap up on Saturday in Ottawa.
