Another convoy of semi-trucks in Saskatchewan are set to converge in Regina tomorrow (Sat), in support of the “Freedom Convoy” that is on their way to Ottawa.
Regina police are preparing for their arrival, which is expected to be around 11:30 a.m. eastbound on the southern portion of Ring Road, turning northbound on Albert Street, and ending at the Legislative Building.
In a news release, police say a parade permit has been issued and the Traffic Safety Unit has been in contact with the organizers.
“Expect police to be present and monitoring to ensure safety for all users of our roadways. Higher density traffic may occur as the gathering disperses in the afternoon. Please avoid the area, or expect delays.” Regina police added.
Their arrival into the province’s capital coincides with the majority of the “Freedom Convoy” expected to arrive in the nation’s capital tomorrow.
When the main convoy started in B.C. last week, the protest was initially against the federal government’s vaccine mandate for truckers, but it has since grown to protest all forms of mandates.
