Saskatchewan Reports 1,331 New Cases Of COVID-19, 1,179 Recoveries, 1 Death

  • As of January 30th, there are 1,331 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 117,858 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (11), Far North Central (1), Far North East (4), North West (54), North Central (61), North East (21), Saskatoon (396), Central West (41), Central East (77), Regina (319), South West (38), South Central (84), and South East (102) zones and 122 new cases have pending residence information.
  • Of the 1,331 new cases reported today, 267 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 44 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 597 were fully vaccinated (more than 14 days since their second dose) and 423 were fully vaccinated and more than 14 days from receiving their booster dose.
  • 96 cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (1), Far North East (1), North West (2), North Central (56), Saskatoon (12), Central East (5), Regina (14), South West (2), and South East (3) zones.
  • 16 SK residents tested out-of-province were added to the North West (1), Saskatoon (5), Central West (1), Regina (7), and South East (2) zones.

  • 117,858 cases are confirmed
    • 30,557 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 24,917 cases are from the Regina area
    • 24,866 cases are from the North area (10,784 North West, 10,440 North Central, 3,642 North East)
    • 15,757 cases are from the South area (3,241 South West, 4,733 South Central, 7,783 South East)
    • 10,429 cases are from the Far North area (4,896 Far North West, 594 Far North Central, 4,939 Far North East)
    • 9,517 cases are from the Central area (2,208 Central West, 7,309 Central East)
    • 1,815 cases have pending residence information
  • 12,720 cases are considered active and 104,148 cases are considered recovered.
  • Over one-third (36.2%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39.
  • As of January 30th, a total of 349 individuals are hospitalized; including 310 inpatient hospitalizations, and 39 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 349 patients, 110 (31.5%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • The SHA dashboard includes 349 hospitalizations:
    • 310 residents are inpatient: of those, 116 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 159 are incidental COVID-19 infections and 35 have not yet been determined.
    • 39 residents are in ICUs: of those, 32 are for COVID-19-related illnesses and six (6) are for incidental COVID–19 infections.  One (1) resident is in PICU/NICU for COVID-19-related illness.
  • One (1) new death reported today. A total of 990 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 0.8%.
  • 1,436,158 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of January 27, 2022, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,204,072 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,470,417 tests performed per million population.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 1,188 (98.6 new cases per 100,000).
