The City of Melville continues to recover, physically and financially, from last May’s ice storm.
Shortly after the storm hit, Melville applied to the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) to recover costs from the clean-up, which is approximately $1.36-million.
City Manager Ron McCullough said to date, they’ve received approximately $835-thousand through PDAP, with an additional $4-thousand possibly coming.
McCullough says work still needs to be done at Melville Regional Park, one of the hardest hit areas, including removal of tree stumps and re-planting.
McCullough says dealing with PDAP has been good for the most part.
