Saskatchewan Reports 837 New Cases Of COVID-19, 930 Recoveries, 4 Deaths

  • As of February 3rd, there are 837 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 120,745 reported cases
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (3), Far North East (8), North West (34), North Central (30), North East (4), Saskatoon (221), Central West (16), Central East (69), Regina (257), South West (17), South Central (21), and South East (74) zones and 83 new cases have pending residence information
  • Of the 837 new cases reported today, 147 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 23 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 346 were fully vaccinated (more than 14 days since their second dose) and 321 were fully vaccinated and more than 14 days from receiving their booster dose.
  • 131 cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (1), Far North East (2), North West (24), North Central (38), North East (3), Saskatoon (12), Central West (4), Central East (17), Regina (22), South West (1), South Central (4), and South East (3) zones.
  • 14 SK residents tested out-of-province were added to the North East (1), Saskatoon (5), Central West (1), Regina (2), South West (2), South Central (1), and South East (2) zones.

  • 120,745 cases are confirmed
    • 31,450 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 25,696 cases are from the Regina area
    • 25,485 cases are from the North area (11,041 North West, 10,752 North Central, 3,692 North East)
    • 10,525 cases are from the Far North area (4,941 Far North West, 600 Far North Central, 4,984 Far North East)
    • 16,132 cases are from the South area (3,319 South West, 4,861 South Central, 7,952 South East)
    • 9,843 cases are from the Central area (2,279 Central West, 7,564 Central East)
    • 1,614 cases have pending residence information
  • 10,271 cases are considered active and 109,473 cases are considered recovered
  • Just over one-third (34.5%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
  • As of February 3rd, a total of 384 individuals are hospitalized, including 347 inpatient hospitalizations and 37  ICU hospitalizations. Of the 384 patients, 131 (34.1%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • The SHA dashboard includes 384 hospitalizations:
    • 347 residents are inpatient: of those, 137 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 189 are incidental COVID 19 infections, and 21 have not yet been determined.
    • 36 residents are in ICUs: of those, 28 are for COVID-19-related illnesses, and eight (8) are for incidental COVID-19 infections. One (1) resident is in PICU/NICU for COVID-19 related illnesses
  • Four (4) new deaths reported today. A total of 1,001 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 0.8%.
  • 1,445,443 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of February 1, 2022, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,218,345 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,481,089 tests performed per million.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 958 (79.5 new cases per 100,000).
