Sask. COVID-19 Update: 332 in hospital, 724 new cases, 6 deaths

  • As of February 6th, there are 724 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 123,258 reported cases

  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (7), Far North Central (1), Far North East (6), North West (57), North Central (43), North East (11), Saskatoon (207), Central West (21), Central East (28), Regina (122), South West (23), South Central (67), and South East (44) zones and 87 new cases have pending residence information
  • 97 cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (1), Far North East (1), North West (33), North Central (23), Saskatoon (17), Central West (3), Central East (2), Regina (12), and South East (5) zones.
  • Nine (9) SK residents tested out-of-province were added to the North East (1), Saskatoon (3), Central West (1), Central East (3), and South Central (1) zones.
  • 123,258 cases are confirmed
    • 32,115 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 26,257 cases are from the Regina area
    • 26,088 cases are from the North area (11,300 North West, 11,023 North Central, 3,765 North East)
    • 16,663 cases are from the South area (3,405 South West, 5,067 South Central, 8,191 South East)
    • 10,614 cases are from the Far North area (4,983 Far North West, 604 Far North Central, 5,027 Far North East)
    • 10,035 cases are from the Central area (2,330 Central West, 7,705 Central East)
    • 1,486 cases have pending residence information
  • 9,223 cases are considered active and 113,023 cases are considered recovered
  • Almost one-third (30.5%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
  • As of February 6th, a total of 332 individuals are hospitalized, including 301 inpatient hospitalizations and 31 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 332 patients, 110 (33.1%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • The SHA dashboard includes 332 hospitalizations:
    • 301 residents are inpatient: of those, 118 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 158 are incidental COVID-19 infections, and 25 have not yet been determined.
    • 30 residents are in ICUs: of those, 17 are for COVID-19-related illnesses and 13 are for incidental COVID-19 infections. One (1) resident is in PICU/NICU for COVID-19-related illnesses.
  • Six (6) new deaths reported today. A total of 1,012 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 0.8%.
  • 1,453,273 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of February 3, 2022, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,222,065 tests performed per million. The national rate of 1,484,994 tests performed per million.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 768 (63.8 new cases per 100,000).
