As many jurisdictions in Canada have started relaxing COVID-19 mandates such as indoor mask use, federal officials are concerned the virus could spring up again. Chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam says there is the possibility of a larger resurgence of daily cases, but also notes recent vaccination trends may keep people out of hospital with serious complications. Yesterday, Health Canada approved a new vaccine, Novavax, for use in adults.
