RCMP Believe Fatal Accident Caused By Blizzard Conditions

Blizzard conditions are believed to be the cause of a fatal accident in Manitoba.

On Friday, Yellowhead RCMP responded to the collision on Highway 16, west of Newdale.

The investigation determined that a westbound pickup truck crossed over into the the eastbound lane, before colliding with a semi-trailer, causing both vehicles to become fully engulfed in flames.

Both occupants of the pick-up truck, a 45-year-old male from Tofield, Alberta and a 60-year-old male from Elora, Ontario were pronounced dead on the scene, while the driver of the semi, a 53-year-old male from Melfort, was treated for minor injuries.
