Canada has announced a number of sanctions against Russia.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau states that the sanctions will be economic based.
They include banning Canadians from having any financial dealings with newly named independent states of Luhansk and Donetsk, adding sanctions have been levied against Russian politicians, and sanctions against two state backed financial banks.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is also sending troops into Eastern Europe as part of Operation Reassurance.
Trudeau states that the sanctions will remain in place, until Ukraine’s security is assured.
