The Trans-Canada Highway between Virden and Brandon, Manitoba will be closed for an extended period of time.

A large crash involving roughly 20 semi-trucks and five other vehicles has closed down both directions of Highway 1.

At this time, three people have been sent to hospital, and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
