New court date for former Yorkton man charged in October 2020 death of a one-year-old girl

A former Yorkton man, arrested in connection with the death of a one-year-old girl in Regina, has a new court date.

On February 18th, 21-year-old Bailey Peepeetch was committed for trial by jury in Regina Court of Queen’s Bench, and his first pretrial appearance there has been set for March 11th.

Peepeetch was originally arrested for Aggravated Assault on October 7, 2020, but the charge was upgraded to Manslaughter when the girl died two days later.

Regina Police say the investigation began when they were called to a hospital for a report of a critically injured child, and that the injuries were suspected to be the result of physical abuse.
