Fire crews from Yorkton, Ebenezer and Rhein were busy this morning battling a structure fire in Ebenezer.

Ebenezer Fire Chief Ray Miller notes that the fire started near a stove while the homeowner was cooking and spread through the entire wooden structure.

The homeowner is being monitored for smoke inhalation, while a dog and a couple of cats perished in the fire.

The building was deemed a total loss, and Miller notes that a mobile home to the east is being checked for damage, while a garage to the southwest did not suffer any damage.
