SGI will be mailing out some 700 thousand rebate cheques in the coming weeks to customers who had vehicles registered as or March 9th, 2022. All classes of vehicle including private, commercial and farm will be eligible, but not trailers and snowmobiles. The rebate cheques will be for $100 per vehicle, and those with multiple vehicles or motorcycles will get a combined cheque. SGI Minister Don Morgan says it’s due to a surplus in the rate stabilization reserve, and will cost the government $95 million.
