Logan Rands scored the game winner in overtime as the Virden Oil Capitals won Game 1 of their Best of 7 first round series, 3-2 win over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Trevor Hunt and Colin Cook replied for the Oil Capitals, who got 32 stops from Bailey Monteith in the win.

Kolton Shindle and Reagan Rabbit replied for the Wolverines while Brett Mirwald made 21 saves on 24 shots.

The two teams meet in Game 2 on March 27 back in Virden.
