A virtual forum about systemic racism is free for those interested in taking part Thursday afternoon.eventbrite.
The Beyond Diversity and Inclusion: Responsibilities to Address Systemic Racism forum will look at what systemic racism is, how it came to be and some of things society can do to manage it within our lives. That’s according to Rhonda Rosenberg, Executive Director of the Multi-Cultural Council of Saskatchewan. She says there will be three speakers over the two-hour long event. “We’re really excited to welcome Dr. Sandeep Agrawal from the University of Alberta and he will be sharing research that he’s engaged in on municipalities and how we really need to think about equity when we’re looking at land and land-use policy.” The forum gets underway at 2 o’clock and runs until four tomorrow (Thurs) afternoon. Dr. Sheelah McLean, an educator, author, researcher and activist and Alicia Buckley, the program director at the Aboriginal Friendship Centres of Saskatchewan are the other two speakers.
