A video tribute and drop-in gathering at the hockey arena where the Humboldt Broncos play will mark the 4th anniversary of the bus crash that killed 16 players and team staff and injured 13 others. The team was heading to a playoff game when they were hit by a semi near Tisdale. The man driving the semi, Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death and bodily harm and was sentenced to eight years, and is currently fighting efforts to deport him when his sentence is completed.
