Two of three people charged following a drug bust in Yorkton appear in court

Three people have been arrested and charged following a recent drug bust in Yorkton.

On Wednesday (Apr. 20), RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on the 200 block of Dracup Avenue, where 200 pieces of what’s believed to be cocaine and a quantity of cash were seized.

29-year-old Rick Lam, of Edmonton, and 19-year-old Opeyemi Jalade, of St. Catherines, Ontario, are each charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Trafficking Cocaine, and Proceeds of Crime, and both made their first court appearance in Yorkton this morning (Fri).

Both remain in custody for next Tuesday (Apr. 26) in Yorkton.

Their co-accused, 50-year-old Karen Hiebert, of Yorkton, who is also charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking Cocaine, will appear in Yorkton Court on May 30th.
